Have You Ever Thought

Originally posted 23 April 2006

Have you ever thought how it might feel having no Mum, Dad or close family members or a loving secure home to be brought up in.
Without the likes of Bethany Christian Home for Children thats how many children would find themselves.

It's so sad to think that in this day and age homes like Bethany are very much needed to address the requirements that life presents to children of all ages and cultures.

When Bethany takes on the responsibility of caring for a child it does not only think about just it's immeadiate needs but also that of it's longer term asperations. In the formative years of any child it has to feel secure and be surrounded with love and friendship. In the case of Bethany children are initially cared for in the nursery, then they progress to the infants and toddlers group then when they commence their elementary education they remain together just the same as would be the case if they were brothers and sisters.

Moving on to High School and depending on academic acheivement they then progress to either College or University.
Such is the care that children who may be no more than days old when they arrive at the home receive throughout their stay. Some children are adopted mainly overseas others of course never leave the home. Not all children are perfect in mind or body and as such require constant care under the category of special needs.

The majority of staff working at the home are former children who have decided to dedicate their time as they understand what it's like more than anyone to be in need.

If you read this I hope you have been touched as I was when I first learned of the selfless work of Ms Lynip and her dedicated staff.
I will be travelling to the Philippines again this year on holiday as my children have not seen their Grandmother since 2000 and it will give them also the opportunity to see the house we have built as our retirment home which we finished last year.
When I retire and am living in Talakag I wish to start a newsletter all about Bethany and inform all those who wish to help what is happening with their donations and give the children the chance to tell their story and share their lives with all concerned.

If you wish to help financially I will provide on contact bank details for Ms Lynip and Bethany, alternatively if you wish to send used clothes or toys etc, I will provide you with detailsof how to do this.
Further information can be obtained at www.bethany-ph.cjb.net
or alternatively contact me at jcjimc@aol.com
Kind regards to you all.
